Alhamdulillah, our recent Parents’ workshop, entitled ‘The Love of Allah,’ served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of understanding Allah’s names and attributes.
Exploring the Beautiful Names of Allah
The workshop, held in December, focused on four beautiful names of Allah: Al Aleem (The All-Knowing), Al Shafi (The Healer), Al Musawwir (The Fashioner), and Al Baseer (The All-Seeing). These names offer profound insights into Allah’s power, mercy, and wisdom.
- Al Aleem (The All-Knowing): This name reminds us that Allah’s knowledge is infinite and encompasses all things, seen and unseen. Reflecting on this name encourages us to seek knowledge and to remember that Allah is aware of our thoughts and actions.
- Al Shafi (The Healer): Allah is the ultimate source of healing, both for our bodies and our souls. Turning to Allah in times of difficulty and seeking His healing is an essential aspect of our faith.
- Al Musawwir (The Fashioner): This name highlights Allah’s perfect creation and the unique beauty He bestows upon each individual. It inspires us to appreciate the diversity of the world and to recognise the artistry in Allah’s creation.
- Al Baseer (The All-Seeing): Allah sees everything that we do. This name urges us to be mindful of our actions and to strive to please Allah in all that we do.
Strengthening Our Iman
The workshop aimed to deepen our connection to Allah by understanding these names and attributes. The discussion during the workshop highlighted how understanding these names can strengthen our Iman (faith) and inspire us to incorporate His qualities into our daily lives. By reflecting on Allah’s names, we can cultivate a greater love for Him and a stronger desire to live according to His guidance.
