Sidrah Awan
Head of Sisters Centre, Services and Activities
As Head of the Sisters Centre, Sidrah is accountable for the services and activities related to the sisters at Green Lane Masjid. She also acts as the sisters’ Office Manager, responsible for all female volunteers and staff.
Sidrah is a qualified teacher by profession. She gained a BSc in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham and went on to gain a PGCE in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. Before joining Green Lane Masjid, she was the Deputy Head of a local Islamic Girls’ School. Due to her extensive experience in teaching and working within the Education sector, Sidrah was the Head of Education at Green Lane Masjid for 3 years. In her new role, she will now be focussing on the provision for sisters within the masjid.
Shaykh Zakaullah Saleem
Head Imam and Head of Education
Qari Zakaullah is the Head Imam at the Masjid. After completing his Islamic Education, he worked in numerous roles before becoming the Imam of Green Lane Masjid in the UK. He memorised the Qur’an at a very young age and has been leading the taraweeh prayers for the past 37 years. He holds the master’s degree in Islamic education from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education.
