Hifsah
Online Coordinator
Hifsah Hussain has joined Green Lane Masjid as the new Online Coordinator, bringing a strong background in education, administration, and community engagement. She holds a degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Childhood and Youth Studies, further deepening her expertise in child development and education.
With experience working as both an administrator and teacher in Islamic schools, Hifsah has developed a deep understanding of the educational needs of students and the importance of structured, engaging learning environments. Her passion for Islamic studies and education drives her commitment to creating a supportive and enriching experience for learners.
Dedicated and proactive, Hifsah is excited to contribute to the growth and success of the online learning programs at Green Lane Masjid. She looks forward to working closely with students, teachers, and the community to enhance their educational journey.
Zeenat
Admin
Zeenat is a dedicated administrator at the Madrasah, managing enrollments and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the institution. With a solid background in education, Islamic studies, and psychology, Zeenat is well-equipped to create a supportive and effective learning environment. As a mother of four home-schooled children, she understands the importance of personalised education and applies this experience in her professional role. Zeenat has a deep personal interest in Islamic education and development, continuously seeking to expand her knowledge and contribute to community growth. Her extensive travels to various countries has also broadened her perspective, allowing her to connect with diverse cultures and further enhance her understanding of global educational practices.
Ustadh Abdulrahman
Quran Teacher
Abdulrahman Al-Hawaty is a dedicated online Quran teacher at Green Lane Madrasah since 2022. He also serves as an online teaching assistant at the International Islamic University of Minnesota. He hold a Bachelor’s and a High Diploma in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University, where he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Qur’anic Studies, specialising in ʿUthmānic Orthography . With seven years of experience teaching Islamic Studies to non-Arabic speakers, he is passionate about making Islamic knowledge accessible and engaging. He hold multiple I’jazas in the riwayahs of Hafs, Shu’bah, Warsh, and Qaloon. His goal is to provide a nurturing and enriching learning environment for all his students.
Ustadh Guleed
Islamic Studies Teacher
Ustadh Guleed has pursued formal studies in Madinah, studying both Aqeedah and Fiqh under qualified scholars. He delivers engaging, interactive lessons that simplify complex topics. He also teaches Qur’an with a focus on Tajweed and nurturing students upon the Prophetic character.
Ustadh Bilaal
Islamic Studies Teacher
Ustadh Bilaal is an Islamic studies teacher who obtained a BA in Islamic Studies from the University of Leeds in 2009. He has since spent over a decade in Saudi Arabia, attending classes in Arabic, fiqh, hadith and aqeedah. He has ijazas in a number of important and classical works. Currently, he is studying his MA in Islamic Studies with International Online University.
Ustadah Zarghona
Quran teacher
Zarghona has been working as a teacher for several years and was also a previous student in the madrasah. She teaches students Qaidah, Quran and Tajweed. She finds joy in seeing students achieve their full potential and finds it an honour helping them learn how to memorise and read the Quran.
Ustadah Mariam
Quran teacher
Mariam is a native Arabic speaker from Egypt and a certified Quran teacher (Ijazah holder in riwayah of Hafs ‘an ‘Asim, Matn Aljazariyah and Matn Tuhfatul-atfal in tajweed), with extensive experience in online instruction. Although she graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, her true passion lies in teaching the Quran.
In addition to being a professional Arabic calligraphy artist and instructor, Mariam specializes in delivering structured Quran lessons for students of all ages and levels. She supports learners in improving their recitation, mastering Tajweed, and building confidence in their Hifz.
Her commitment to high standards, combined with a smooth and compassionate teaching approach, ensures that students receive a meaningful, accurate, and engaging Qur’anic education.
Ustadah Amina
Quran and Islamic studies teacher
Amina S. has been teaching at Online Green Lane Madrassah for the past two years as an Islamic Studies and Qur’an teacher. With a degree in Sociology and advanced Arabic studies completed in Egypt, she brings both academic knowledge and cultural depth to her teaching. Before joining Green Lane Madrassah, Amina worked for many years as a Qur’an teacher in various private institutes, where she dedicated herself to nurturing a love for the Qur’an and Islamic teachings in her students. Her goal is to help students develop a strong understanding of Islamic teachings and enhance their Qur’anic recitation with proper Tajweed. Amina is passionate about guiding her students on their spiritual journeys and strives to create a supportive and enriching learning environment that inspires growth and connection to their faith.
Ustaadhah Hannan
Qur’an & Primary Teacher
Hannan is a dedicated and passionate teacher who strives to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for her students. With experience in both mainstream education and Islamic studies, she teaches Qur’an, Qa’idah, and supports children in developing strong academic and personal foundations.
She finds great joy in helping students grow in confidence, improve their character, and build a love for learning — especially connecting their education with their deen. Hannan is committed to guiding her students with patience, care, and high expectations, always encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Ustadah Reem
Qur’an Tutor
Native speaker specialising in correct articulation (Makharij) and authentic pronunciation. Experienced in online/onsite teaching for individuals and groups.
Ustadah Felisha
Felisha has been a Qur’an teacher with GLM for the past 3 years. She was motivated by the hadeeth, “The best among you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.” Inspired by this, she gave up her nursing career and began learning and teaching the Qur’an. Felisha holds a BA in Islamic Studies and a Teacher’s Training Certificate for Qaida under Qatar Awqaf. She has also worked as a Qur’an teacher in Qatar. She holds an Ijazah in recitation and Muqaddimatul Jazariyyah. Felisha is continuing her Islamic studies to expand her knowledge further. As a mother of four, she understands the challenges of teaching the Qur’an to children. She encourages and motivates students to remain consistent in their Qur’anic practice, which, in turn, enables them to progress well. Felisha always emphasizes the importance of the Qur’an in daily life.
Ustadh Soulaymaan
Soulaymaan began his journey with the Qur’an at a young age, attending Green Lane Masjid for six years as a child. Throughout his early years, he learned from numerous esteemed Qur’an teachers, but it was at the age of 16 that two exceptional teachers in the UK helped him refine his Tajweed and instilled in him a deep love for the Qur’an. Inspired by this passion, he embarked on a transformative journey to Egypt at the age of 17 to further his Qur’anic and Islamic studies. Though initially challenging, Egypt soon became his second home, where he immersed himself in the pursuit of knowledge under the guidance of some of the most respected scholars and teachers. Since then, Soulaymaan has continued to travel between the UK and Egypt, continually learning and deepening his understanding of the Qur’an. His dedication to perfecting his recitation and teaching reflects his commitment to preserving and passing on the beauty of the Qur’an to his students.
Ustadah Tayyibah
Tayyibah is a dedicated Qur’an Teacher at GLM Madrasah who strives to instil the love of the Qur’an within all of her students. Having grown up at the masjid and completed her Hifdh with the Madrasah, she has the knowledge to pass on to her students. Being a school student herself when completing her Hifdh, she understands the School/Madrasah balance and is able to connect with her students.
Ustadah Layla
Islamic studies teacher
Layla was born in the UK but spent all her educational years in Egypt. She studied at various institutions in Egypt and later graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy. Her education provided her with a strong foundation in Arabic and Islamic studies, alongside her academic qualifications.Fluent in both Arabic and English, she has been blessed with a Qur’an Ijazah in Qira’at Asim, Riwayat Shu’bah, and Hafs, reflecting her dedication to the study and preservation of the Qur’an. In her free time, Layla enjoys reading and actively contributes to her community by volunteering as an assistant scout leader.

A student of knowledge and a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience teaching various age groups. She firmly believes in the potential of children and is passionate about nurturing the next generation of our Ummah according to the principles of the Quran and Sunnah.

- Ustadah Roziena discovered a deep passion for teaching and has spent years nurturing young minds through her extensive experience working with children. Her educational journey also includes attending lessons at the masjid, which has enriched both her knowledge and her approach to teaching.
Ustadh Abdullah
Ustadh Abdullah is an experienced teacher of Islamic Studies who studied in Saudi Arabia. Known for his strong rapport with students, Ustadh Abdullah uses a variety of innovative strategies to instill the love of religion in his students. His unique approach emphasizes interactivity, which allows students to engage deeply with the material and develop a stronger connection to their faith. By incorporating different teaching techniques, he ensures that each student feels valued and has the opportunity to learn in an environment that promotes both intellectual and spiritual growth. Ustadh Abdullah’s dedication and enthusiasm create an atmosphere where students thrive and build a solid foundation in Islamic Studies.
